FrenchMontessori4children is a Montessori home based pre-school offering part-time (3 days a week, 9 am to 12 pm) Montessori learning in a French speaking environment.
We take great care in preparing our classroom environment. Dr. Maria Montessori developed what she called the "prepared environment" which already possesses a certain order and disposes children to develop at their own individual speeds, according to their own capacities, and in a non-competitive atmosphere in their first school years. In our classroom you will find all the area of the Montessori curriculum, including 'Practical Life', 'Sensorial', 'Math', 'Language', 'Science'.
FrenchMontessori4children is opening its doors in September 2008. It will be run by Nathalie Cook, a qualified Montessori teacher with over 7 years experience working with children both here in Amercia and in England. Nathalie Cook is a native French speaker and has been running French4children a French club for children 3-12 years old in Chapel Hill for the last 2 1/2 years. Nathalie is currently working at a Montessori school in Chapel Hill as a lead teacher and is very much looking forward to the opportunity of running her own Montessori home pre-school.
